WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - ?

It's good news for drivers, but this unusually mild winter so far has been bad news for some businesses that depend on snow to make their money this time of year.?

While many people say they would take weather conditions like Thursday instead of typical winter conditions, Robert Toombs who owns Toombs construction and a snow removal business said he would take snow any day. ? ??

"The main reason why I got into snow removal is to offset the slow months in the winter through my contracting business. The bottom line is I bought my salt I did some work to my truck to get ready and now we're just waiting for the snow to come to off-set some of those costs so now we're just waiting for the snow," Robert Toombs, owner of Toombs construction, said. ?

Robert Toombs owns Toombs Construction and snow plowing service and said so far this year, his plow hasn't been to work, and his salt supply has barely been touched.

"Last year by this time we plowed at least probably around five lots by now so we're definitely behind that mark," Toombs said.?

?

And as one lonely snow man sits in West Lafayette and waits for the next snowfall before it melts, Toombs said he'll also be waiting for the next snow, so that he can get back to work.?

"Right now my wife and kids are down in Florida in the warm weather and I stayed home because if it snows I'm obligated to plow my lots but its about 50 degrees right now so maybe I should have gone to Florida," Toombs said.?

But Toombs said now, its all up to mother nature on whether or not his business will take a turn for the good.?

"Everyone will probably be mad at me but we want the snow so we can get out and use our salt and put our equipment to work," Toombs said.?
